Basecamp is one of the most popular project management products available, with 15 million users and almost 20 years on the market.Īs a software buyer, you may wonder if Basecamp 3 is worth the investment, or if Basecamp 2 might be all you need. If you’re a fan of project management software, the release of Basecamp 3 back in 2014 was like the equivalent of five Madden release days all at once. (Who could forget the exciting Salary Cap feature added in Madden NFL 97 or the groundbreaking “Longshot” story mode in Madden NFL 18?) Just like all the parts of the Gantt we mentioned before, simply right-click the row you wish to hide from the Gantt chart and choose "hide row" in the context menuĪs with most hidden items, to show the To-do again in the Gantt chart, simply edit the To-do in Basecamp and remove from its name.Every year for the past 25+ years, a new version of the John Madden video game football franchise has been released.īack in the early 1990s, those new versions didn’t amount to much more than updated rosters, more plays in the playbook, marginally improved graphics, and maybe a new gameplay feature. Maybe you want to hide all finished To-dos (but this can be done using the filtering option as well) or there are certain To-dos you don't want to show up in the Gantt chart for other reasons either way, we've got you covered. Last but not least, you can also hide individual To-dos from a list. Refresh your Gantt chart and the To-do list and all it's to-dos will now show up again. If you wish to show this To-do list in your Gantt charts again, simply go into Basecamp, edit the description of the To-do list and remove the meta information from the description. The entire To-do list will now remain hidden from Ganttify whenever you create a Gantt chart of this Basecamp project.

Much like with the previously mentioned calendar events, Ganttify will now update the description of the To-do list in Basecamp and append it with the meta information. Hiding an entire Basecamp To-do list from the Gantt chart is as easy as right-clicking the row on the left side of the Gantt and choosing the "hide row" menu option: For those who skipped through this part, we'll just show you again how it's done. If you've read through the first part of this article, by now you might be able to guess what's coming next. To make this event available in Ganttify again, simply remove the meta information from the description of the event and refresh your Gantt chart. The meta information will be added to the end of any pre-existing description. Note: Ganttify will not overwrite existing description information. The scheduled event will now be hidden from the Gantt chart immediately and will stay hidden upon refresh of the Gantt chart. When you view the event in Basecamp, it will now have a new description as you can see here: To hide an event, simply right-click the event row in the left side of the Gantt chart and choose "hide row" Hide and show calendar and project eventsĮvents can be created in (multiple) custom calendars or in your Basecamp project directly and they show up in the "Schedule" group of your Gantt chart. To make this calendar available in Ganttify again, simply remove the meta information from the name of the calendar and refresh your Gantt chart. Since there is no other way to tell Basecamp that this calendar should be hidden from Gantt charts created with Ganttify, we will store this information in the description, or in this case the name, of the calendar. When you view your calendar in Basecamp, it will now have a new name as you can see here:

The entire calendar will now be hidden from the Gantt chart, even if you refresh. You can choose to hide each individual calendar entirely by right-clicking the calendar's top row in the Gantt chart and choose "hide row" In Basecamp 2, you can create multiple calendars in a Basecamp.

We'll go over each one and how to hide, and sometimes just as important, show them back in the Gantt chart again. In Basecamp 2, there are a couple of types of data that are shown in the Gantt chart and which can be hidden by Ganttify. If you're using Basecamp 3, this guide is for you →. This guide is written for Basecamp 2 users. Instead, you can manually choose to hide certain rows of data from the Gantt chart altogether. Sometimes when you create a Gantt chart of your Basecamp project using Ganttify, you don't need all the information from your Basecamp project to show up in the Gantt chart.
